This is an uphill climb through working forests, with a rewarding view at the summit. It does take some exertion, but small children can definitely hike this with some breaks. (We’ve seen local mothers with children in backpacks on the trail!) After the hike, stop at two neighboring farms. One farm features local, pasture-raised beef and maple syrup. The second has organically grown vegetables, flowers, eggs and maple syrup--and a herd of dairy cows. Both farms have farm stands to purchase their offerings if you wish.
Note: behind-the-scenes visits are available at the two farms, at an extra cost of $85 per farm, per 30 minute toured visit. Advance notice is required, although it may be possible to be same-day advance notice. Arrangements are made through Vermont Fascination.
